A Sentimental Gift | The Book Of Everyone

A Sentimental Gift | The Book Of Everyone

Christmas is a time where we all sit and open our presents together as a family. This year we are spending christmas day just the 3 of us but we will most probably be seeing my family on christmas eve & this will include my youngest brother, Leo. He’s 8 years old and is mad on Christmas, Santa, the lot. I don’t have a lot of money this year so I was unable to splash out on big fancy gifts so instead I decided to go down the more sentimental route. Leo has Autism and I can’t help but feel like sometimes he feels like he’s different to everybody else. I want Leo to know that he isn’t different, he is special, he’s limited edition and the absolute apple of my eye (after Alyssia).

When I came across The Book Of Everyone, I was over the moon to find a book that I could practically write myself. I got Leo a big book of ‘wise(ish) words’ I thought that this would be a great way of teaching Leo to read but at the same time it will also make him realise how special he is.

Examples of what I wrote in Leo’s book:

“You are limited edition, look after yourself.”

“Be you, you’re the best person for the job.”

“If you are ever stuck for someone to talk to, you can count on me.”

The book is full of colours and has big writing, something that children with special needs really benefit from. The whole ‘create the book’ process is really simple, the website is really easy to follow. You choose the book illustrations and then you’re able to edit the wording. I decided to practically recreate the whole book and add a lot of my own writing in to suit me.

Personalised gifts are always a big hit at Christmas, I personally love them and my home is filled with personalised items. I’ve even got Alyssia a few personalised bits for Christmas. I think Leo’s really going to love this book, especially the bright colours & the illustrations. He might not understand the meaning behind the book now but he will in the future. I just want him to know how loved he is and that he is imperfectly perfect.

This book was the perfect way to tell him that and I would definetely recommend them if you’re looking for a nice gift this Christmas.
