Some of you may or may not already know that I was asked if I would like to get involved with the BBC mums and mental health event that is taking place in Blackpool this week where Stacey Solomon, Rochelle Humes and Giovanna Fletcher will join BBC 5 live radio presenter Anna Foster to host the UK’s biggest conversation about Mums and Mental Health. I was asked by the BBC to film a short video talking about my experience as a young mum and what my biggest mum challenge has been. So I figured I would share it with you all here (Please note: I have never filmed a video before and I am super anxious and awkward here so show me some love)
I have suffered with anxiety for years but more so since Alyssia has been here, despite the fact that she has helped me in so many other ways I am still scared of something bad happening either to myself or to her. Having a baby brings you so much responsibility, you are responsible for your own mini human and that’s scary enough in itself.
When you have a baby its so overwhelming you don’t really have time to think about your mental health. I took part in this campaign in an attempt to raise awareness about mental health and to break the stigma that comes with it. You can read more of my mental health blog posts here.
Please feel free to tag me on social media using the hashtag #mumtakeover with your experiences.
