Organising and hosting a house party is quite a big responsibility, first you've got to work out where you're going to have it. Is your house big enough? Is there going to be enough space or do you need to find a venue? Did you know that there are large houses to rent in the UK? They are known as party houses and sleep anything from 10 to 40+ guests which I think is amazing. How cool would it be to rent one of those out with all your friends. I would LOVE it. I’d love to organise a mums night away one day with a hot tub and good food, oh what a dream that would be! After choosing your venue (there are loads around – I didnt realise there were so many near me. All you have to do is add your postcode and it will do all the searching for you). You then need to think about who you're going to invite? Are you renting it out for an 18th birthday, a christmas party, a christening, a hen do, a stag do, a wedding after party or just because you fancy a party? Whatever it is, you need to book a venue that is suitable and invite the right people. Quite often with party houses, there are activities near by and caterers available for your special occasion which makes it all that little bit easier to plan.
I've always dreamt of owning a big house so that we could host our own house parties / dinners but its a goal that I have planned for the future. In my opinion the best thing to do before you're about to plan something big like a party, is write a list - this way you can think properly about what you do and don't want and how you're going to do it. If you have a budget for your party, you can write on your list how much everything is going to cost. This way you can't go wrong with your money and overspend.
Create a Checklist
Depending on what kind of party you're having, it's a good idea to write down what you will need to do:
- Whats your budget?
- Choose a date
- Book a venue
- Write a guest list
- Choose a Theme / Dress Code
- Send out invites
- Organise Food
- Create a music playlist or Hire a DJ.
- Order a cake
Of course, the above list doesn't apply to all occasions, it would be ideal for a house party but for a wedding there would be a lot of things that would need to be added to the list. It also depends on if you're planning your own party or if you book an all inclusive party house, it may cost more but it would be much easier and would cross a lot off your list. I would love to rent out a party house one day preferably one with a hot tub and good grub.
